On May 10th, 2008,
355 registered runners and walkers gathered to remember those lost, help those fighting, and to celebrate those who won their fight against brain tumors.
This event has raised over $20,000 in the last 4 years donated to the American Brain Tumor Association for brain tumor research and family support services.
This year alone has raised a current total of $11,529.63. Some donations are still coming in, which will put that total even higher!
After 5 short years, this amazing event has generated over $31,000 to help advance brain tumor research. It is difficult to watch
someone you love battle such a disease. You feel helpless, you want to help, you want to take away the suffering, pain, and worry - but you can't. Participating in
this event is one of the best ways we currently have to fight for those we love battling brain tumors. The race director of this event is very proud and pleased with
all participants in the past 5 years who laced up their shoes to battle brain tumors one step at a time for those they love.
We are proud to be an organization that participated in the “2008 Walk Around the World for Brain Tumors”. The International Brain Tumor Alliance is logging
all miles walked for brain tumors between Jan 1 and Nov. 1 of 2008. The goal is to walk around the equator 3 times! This equates to 87,000 miles, and
we have helped the IBTA get closer to their goal.
The 5th Annual Glio-Blastoff 5K had a total of 163 walkers, which totals 505.3 miles. To check out the IBTA
