About this event Glio-Blastoff 5K Fun/Walk has been created to raise monies for brain cancer research. Glioblastoma Multiforme is the most common and most aggressive form of primary brain cancer. All monies from this event will go directly to the American Brain Tumor Association, which is the leading non-profit organization in the country for brain cancer research. By participating in this event you have donated $25.00 (or $30.00 if you register on-site) to the American Brain Tumor Association. Any additional donation you would like to contribute will also go directly to the American Brain Tumor Association. Course The event will begin at 9:00am starting and finishing on campus at University Park. The course is a fast, flat 3.1 miles (5K). Most of the course is paved; however there are a few short stretches that are on grass and gravel, therefore no strollers or baby joggers are allowed on the course. In addition for safety purposes no skateboards, roller blades/skates, bicycles, electronic headphone devices, as well as animals can be taken on the course. Entry Fees Registration before May 8, 2008 = $25.00 (includes t-shirt & goodie bag) Registration On-site = $30.00 (due to limited quantity of t-shirts, those who register onsite will receive a t-shirt on a first come first serve basis) Parking Free parking will be available in North Lot 1 and the Mayhew Lot. Registration and Bib # Pick-up To register fill out the entry form and sign the waiver or register online. The final date for pre-registration is May 8, 2008. After this date only on-site registration will be available. On the event day you will need to check in at the registration table and pick up your bib #, t-shirt, goodie bag, and prize ticket. Event registration begins at 8:00am in University Park. Awards The top three male and female finishers will receive medals. A post event award drawing will be held after the last walker finishes. All participants will be entered into this drawing for a chance to win cool prizes. You will have to place your prize ticket into the bucket of your choice before 9:00am. The prize drawing is set up so that you can enter your ticket into the item you hope to win. This way you are more likely to get something you want and can use!
